On October 28 (12 days early), my water broke at 5 a.m. I called a friend to pick up the kids and got ready to go. At 5:30 I began to feel a lot of pressure. By 5:45 I was having contractions. We checked in at the hospital at 5:55 and waited in the waiting room for 5-10 min. I got changed into the gown, and my midwife checked me. I was dilated to an 8 (I'd been at a 2 at my appt the day before). I asked if I'd have time for an epidural. She said yes if I didn't go too fast. She stepped out of the room, and I began a contraction that made me feel I needed to push. They ran my bed into the labor and delivery room. Between contractions I rolled onto the bed in the l & d room. Within five TERRIBLE minutes, Creegan was out. He was born at 6:28 a.m.
He weighed 7 lb 11 oz.
Brothers meeting.
Look how round his face was and how pink his skin was.
We went home on Sat, Oct 30.
Peter grew so big!
We went trick-or-treating.
Creegan wore a pumpkin hat.
Creegan got really yellow.
He was admitted to the hospital on Tues, Nov 2, for jaundice treatment.
I wasn't allowed to breastfeed him, which broke my heart, cuz he was a natural breastfeeder. E & P loved feeding him, though.
C met Grandma and Grandpa.
Creegan and I came home from the hospital on Thurs, Nov 4.
It was a big first week! We love our Creegan!

Congrats again. Can't wait to meet him.
Sounds like a crazy labor, but I am sure you feel the same way I did when I had Jack. Wow, that was intense, but it was over fast and I feel good. Would you do natural labor again?
Wow. That's a quick kid! Congrats!
I cry when I think of you going through natural labor! I hope you are healing well. You went trick or treating already?! Good for you... I think :)
Creegan is beautiful!
What an adorable boy! I'm so happy for you! Congratulations!
Oh he's so handsome. Congrats!!!
Congrats! He is beautiful! What a big first week of life he had, and you too! I'm glad he is home (again) and all is well. Sorry about the non-epidural delivery...the same thing happened to me! I can totally understand. But you did it, and that makes you a hero. :) Congrats!
He is adorable. Glad that he is feeling better! I also appreciate "after five TERRIBLE minutes"... poor girl.
Wow, what a crazy story! Congratulations on your little pumpkin, my sweet friend. He is beautiful! :)
Congratulations! I'm glad that all is well. Jaundice isn't too much fun. I can't believe you delivered so fast. Way to go. I'm glad that you could celebrate Halloween as well. :) Enjoy Creegan.
You are so wonderful Melanie. Thank you so much for what you've given Ben. I am terribly homesick for all of you. Creegan is very beautiful. I know what it is to give natural Childbirth...a sobering experience. You've been a brave girl. Thanks again.
He's beautiful! Sorry you had to go through the jaundice. Glad he's doing better now. Wish I could hold him! He looks like a doll.:)
